Bio:
Nik Sorak and The Dead Wait started in 2001 with singer/songwriter Nik Sorak in Fairfield, IA. Nik began writing acoustic rock songs that he would play for his sister, roomate, and their two dogs. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Phoenix, AZ where he began playing open mic nights at various coffee shops throughout the valley. It was during this time that he recorded his first album. This album was never released. After spending a year in the desert, Nik moved back to his hometown in Iowa and began working on his next album. This one would be released. Nik spent the next four years developing a fan base in the midwest and releasing three more albums. In 2005, he was welcomed into the Midwest Movement family ( management and artist development). During 2006, he was signed to Freakin Records, an indie label based out of Ottumwa, IA. In 2007, The Dead Wait begins. Nik is joined by A Well Dressed Man bassist, Cole Rutledge. Soon after, they join TDM Records to release “Sea of Uncertainty”. This full length album features 11 tracks of raw, acoustic, independent rock.
