The six-song EP will be available for the first time on Sunday, April 5 when the band plays The Rock in Maplewood, MN with Fair To Midland. It will be available for purchase online beginning April 7 at the Johnnyrook and MWM online stores.

Johnnyrook have announced that they will be playing on April 5 @ The Rock Nightclub in Maplewood, MN. This show comes nearly 8 months after than played their farewell show. More info to follow as it becomes available. In the meantime, a statement from guitarist Zac Boyd reads:
As we promised everyone, today is the day for the “News” regarding the ‘rook. As most of you already know, we called it quits back in August. It was possibly one of the most difficult decisions that we’ve ever had to face. It left a hard lump in all of our throats. We have all continued on in our personal lives as friends...because we all knew that this wasn’t going to be the “end” of us...just what we had known as a band.
As everything came to a head with the band closing, we each started to try out new endeavors. Jay moved back to Blue Springs, MO and had the chance to fly out to L.A. to play with our good friends “Sunset Black”. James started to write and record his solo project “James and the Giant Letdown”. Dan has been playing with another band called Edgemont who is in the process on finishing up on recording their first EP. As for myself, I’ve been chipping away at wedding plans and working on writing and recording music of my own that I’ve been diligently working away on with my fiancé.
However, life hasn’t been quite the same in the music area without the four of us getting together and creating the (what we felt was) magic of Johnnyrook. We started chatting individually and got the notion of possibly hitting up a “reunion show” of sorts purely to get our fix of the music that we created and loved for the past seven years. It all started as talk at first... but then became a little more of a reality.... which is what brings us to the present.
After simply talking about getting together for another show, it’s become much much more of a reality. April 5th. Yup, that’s the date of the shindig. We got word from our very good friends over at The Rock Nightclub that we are signed on for the Fair to Midland show. We will be opening for them on the evening of the 5th of April. The last time that we played with these cats, it was a super fun time, and should prove to be nothing less this time around!
What does this mean for the future of Johnnyrook? Good question. The crazy part, is that we have yet to actually sit down as a unit again, and actually discuss this ourselves. Is the ‘rook getting back together for good? -Maybe. Is this a one time show and then we won’t see anything from the ‘rook again until a future “reunion show?” -Perhaps. We’re still swinging through all of the details as it lies right now too. I can only speak for myself, but I’ve missed my brothers, and I’ve missed the magic that we created. We all four knew that something different needed to happen, and perhaps all that we really needed was this nice little break to realize what the band meant to each one of us individually. Regardless, this is going to be a nice start to SOMETHING...whether that means that we’re officially back together, or even if we get to use this as an outlet to release some of the demons we weren’t able to get rid of at the last show....we need this just as much as we’ve heard all of you may need it as well. Cuz let’s face it...we miss you guys too :)
So, I know you’ve been waiting on this information for quite some time. My apologies we’ve been stringing it up in front of your faces...but I hope you can read through this and understand why. So, the news: April 5th
We’re going to title this show as either:
a.) The rebirth
b.) The reunion
